2017 Champions- Hit Sticks
2017 Champions- Hit Sticks

On Friday evening, January 20th, the Ludlow High School Class of 2018 sponsored a Dodgeball Marathon in the gym from 4PM-10PM. Mrs. Diana Sands, Mrs. Kerry Valentine and Ms. Lindsay Gauthier, Class of 2018 Advisers, report that a total  13 teams played in this year’s tournament.  Valentine shared that there was also plenty of food, drinks, and snacks provided during the tournament to insure all players stayed hydrated and energized.

The tournament began with a round robin format.  This meant that every team played against each other, receiving two points for a win  and one point for tie. Following the round robin the teams were ranked 1-13, according to the number of wins they had amassed, and entered into a single elimination play-off system. After several games, the final two teams left dodging the balls were-The Average Joe’s and the Hit Sticks.

The final game was played on the full court for everyone to watch, and cheer their team to a hopeful victory! After a very intense, and well played game, the gold dodgeball medal was awarded to Hit Sticks!

From all accounts the tournament was a huge success.  Ludlow High School Principal, Mrs. Lisa Nemeth, thanked the Class of 2018 for sponsoring this energizing and fun event and sent a special thank you to Mrs. Sands, Mrs. Valentine and Ms. Gauthier, saying,  “Without their commitment and hard work this Dodgeball Marathon and fun filled evening would have never occurred.”
