As warm weather settles in and flowers begin to bloom, the National Honor Society wanted to show their appreciation for the Earth. On April 28, NHS participated in an Earth Day project at East Street School.

The newly inducted juniors cleaned and updated the courtyard used by students and faculty. The group raked old leaves to be composted, removed weeds, planted flowers, and spread fresh mulch.

“It was great to work with East Street and I am extremely grateful for their support with our Earth Day project,” said NHS President Matt Lussier. “It is important to take care of the community, so it felt really nice to help the schools that set our education into motion.”

Earth Day helps to engage communities while also preserving and caring for the environment.
