On Thursday, June 15th representatives from the Joseph & Anna C. Dias Foundation came together with LPS school committee members and staff to dedicate the Ludlow High School library in memory of Joseph & Anna C. Dias.

In 2015 the Foundation gifted $235,000 to update and modernize the district's five school libraries; in recognition of this generous gift the LHS library was officially named the Joseph & Anna C. Dias Family Foundation Memorial Library.   Over the past 18 months the libraries in each school have used this gift to replace and upgrade furnishings, technology, and books & media to better meet the learning needs of students at every grade level.

During the dedication, Foundation Trustee, Maria Gomes, spoke about the Dias's commitment to the youth of Ludlow and the high value they placed on education, making the gift to the LPS libraries a perfect match.

“Ludlow High faculty and students are so grateful to the Joe and Anna Dias Foundation,” shared Lisa Nemeth, LHS Principal.  “Our library has become a place where collaboration can easily take place and students can learn in an environment that is supportive of 21st century skills.”
