The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) is pleased to announce that Tim Brillo, Director of Athletics at Ludlow High School, has been recognized by this association as a Certified Athletic Administrator.
Brillo has held the position of LHS Athletic Director for the last ten years. Prior to that he was a Physical Education teacher for fifteen years- eight of which he was the department chair. In addition Brillo coached the LHS girls varsity basketball team for twenty-one years.
According to their website, the NIAAA is a national professional organization consisting of all 50 state athletic administrator associations and more than 12,000 individual members. It is dedicated to promoting the professional growth of high school athletic administrators and preserving the educational nature of interscholastic athletics and the place of these programs in the secondary school curriculum.
Brillo earned this NIAAA distinction by demonstrating the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of his educational background, experience, professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written examination.
When learning that Brillo is now part of this elite group of interscholastic athletic administrators nationwide to attain this level of professionalism, LHS Principal, Lisa Nemeth, remarked, “Mr. Brillo is always looking for new ways to improve our athletic programs and for him to receive this certification only proves his commitment to better serve the school, community and profession.”
LPS Superintendent Dr. Todd Gazda also praised Brillo’s accomplishment stating,“We continually emphasize the importance of lifelong learning with both staff and students. Mr. Brillo exemplifies that ideal through his efforts to obtain this national certification.”
